Using USB 3.0 with NAS Ultra 2 +
Hi everybody.
When i plug a usb component in front USB 3.0 of my NAS ultra 2+, nothing happen. System doesn't reognize it, and doesn't mount it.
when i plug in both rear usb, everything is fine.
Why nothing is recognize in front USB port ? Is this an hardware problem on my NAS ?
I have tried with one usb 3.0 seagate expansion drive, one flsh usb key 1GB, and one drive "my book" USB 2.0.
Thanks for your help
Steff

Not all USB3 disks are compatible. Do you have a USB2 disk you could try? - YossemAspirantMy RAIDiator is 4.2.21.
I have also tried with a usb 2.0 drive, a western digital My Book external hard drive. Result is the same. No response from NAS - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo you have a USB hub with its own power supply? Have you tried connecting devices to the front port of the NAS via that?
- YossemAspirantI have not tried with usb hub with power supply. I have one, i will try tomorrow. This hub is usb 2.0, but, i will see if it works with it.
I'll give you result of test tomorrow. - YossemAspirantHello,
This mornning, i have plug a power supply hub usb. All my usb components i plug in hub were recognize. That's great.
I have also retied to unplug my external HD without this power supply, and now, it works perfectly. System recognize all components i plug in front USB 3.0.
Yesterday, when i have done my test i probably haven't wait enough to let the system recognize external usb component.
Thank you for you help.
I consider my problem solved.
