ReadyNAS Photos troubleshooting tips
If you're having problems getting ReadyNAS Photos to work, see if any of the following tips will help.
1. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you don't have "public" or "guest" access enabled for the [media] share, you will need to specify a login and password to connect from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software. The login and password should be what you would normally use to connect to the [media] share.
2. If you are in Share security mode, and you have a password set for the [media] share, when connecting from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software, leave the login field blank, and enter the share password.
3. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you are an account on the ReadyNAS with the same user name but a different password as what you are using on your PC, you will need to change the password to be the same.
4. Make sure [media] share has read/write privileges over CIFS.
5. If you have installed a pre-release version of RAIDiator that had ReadyNAS Photos support (shame on you since we never really released it ;-) ), and you're having problems with the READYNASPHOTOS database, you will need to remove the ReadyNAS Photos add-on, and re-install the add-on from here.

- ablevyAspirantI'm having a similar problem. In your case though it might be because the password for Readynas Photos isn't the same as that for the share. Take a look at Yoda's first post in this thread.

In the second screen after login, ReadyNAS Photos software attempts to connect to the 'media' share on your ReadyNAS device. You will need to provide user name/password here depending on how you have set up the security for media share.

Thanks for the help. It was CIFS (line 4) and line 2 that did the trick. I read the post so many times and I think the thing that threw me off was just that second login screen didn't make sense to me and since I couldn't get any user or password to work, I just thought I was using the wrong user name and password the whole time. I wasn't running CIFS because I don't need win access. I will be trying my first album out tonight.

Upgrade to ReadyNAS Photos 1.1 version was not complete, rendering this installation of ReadyNAS Photos in a inconsistent state. Uninstalling and then re-installing 1.1 version fixed this. - ablevyAspirantI just recently installed Version 1.1. I am trying to set up my wife to be able to run Ready NAS photos. I have her set up to log in, but when I try to create an album i get the error message " cannot create directory \\192.168.1.150\media\pictures\ellenjo\filename". When I look in pictures the directory Ellenjo is already there but empty. I get this message whether I try to add the album from her C drive or copy the files first to the NAS from her machine and then try to create the album. I also get the same answer if I try to do it under my user name from her machine. CIFS is enabled and the media share is setupu with read/write enabled.
On another note, I don't really like the way REadyNAS photos doesn't have any flexibility in the way it imports photos. I had all my photos set up as a series of directories. I really don't want them nested under user names. If we aren't going to have that flexibility under ReadyNas Photos, I will just import them manually. Under those circumstances, I don't want them duplicated to my user subdirectory under pictures.

Can you check if you have enough space in media share for the user who is importing the pictures.
On directory structure :
If you manually copy your pictures to ReadyNAS meida share and then import, they will not be duplicated to user subdirectory under pictures. However, ReadyNAS Photos resizes the photos, and these are stored under user subdirectory. - ablevyAspirantWe are running in user mode. I have about 54 GB free space, and I was able to import the pictures manually to the NAS, but not able to import them in ReadyNAS photos either from my PC or from my wifes PC. I suspect something is wrong with the permissions, because I just imported the same directory from my computer on the network.
Alan - minervaAspirantDo you connect to ReadyNAS from your wife's PC as a different User ? Does this User have same permissions to media share ?
