ReadyNAS Photos troubleshooting tips
If you're having problems getting ReadyNAS Photos to work, see if any of the following tips will help.
1. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you don't have "public" or "guest" access enabled for the [media] share, you will need to specify a login and password to connect from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software. The login and password should be what you would normally use to connect to the [media] share.
2. If you are in Share security mode, and you have a password set for the [media] share, when connecting from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software, leave the login field blank, and enter the share password.
3. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you are an account on the ReadyNAS with the same user name but a different password as what you are using on your PC, you will need to change the password to be the same.
4. Make sure [media] share has read/write privileges over CIFS.
5. If you have installed a pre-release version of RAIDiator that had ReadyNAS Photos support (shame on you since we never really released it ;-) ), and you're having problems with the READYNASPHOTOS database, you will need to remove the ReadyNAS Photos add-on, and re-install the add-on from here.

- notsure1AspirantHi,
I have just brought a ReadyNas Duo and getting the following error when trying to install the desktop application.
"There was an error in installing ReadyNas Photos. Please delete D:\Dekoh if present and try again"
However, when i delete the folder, the same msg appears again.
I am using RAIDAR-4.1.5, ReadyNas Photos v1.7 and RAIDiator 4.1.4
Has anyone come across this before ?
Thanks in advanced. - minervaAspirantSent you a private message.
- notsure1AspirantHi,
Is anyone experiencing problems deleting users on the "people choosers" page ? It seems very flakey. Is there an alternative plugin we can use ?
Thanks, - minervaAspirantIn the current version (1.1), you cannot delete contacts you have added to your Contacts list.
However, if you send me a private message with your readynasphotos id and the contacts you want deleted, i can do it for you.
-minerva - DanK2AspirantI have just updated my ReadyNAS NV+ to RAIDiator 4.1.4 [1.00a042] and downloaded and installed ReadyNAS Photo, and created my account(username and password). I've attempted to log in several times and have even reset my password several times but I can not get past the first login screen. Security is set to Share. Any ideas how to get this to work?
- minervaAspirantUser accounts you have setup on ReadyNAS NV+ do not matter in anyway to login to readynas photos.
After you login, to connect to ReadyNAS NV+ you will need to give user name, password if you have setup your ReadyNAS in share mode.
Can you try the following :
* Login at http://login.readynasphotos.com to check if the username and password you have signed up for work ? If this passes without giving any error, perhaps your PC is behind a proxy ? In this case, it will be useful to know the exact error message you are seeing.
* Please also take a look at the first post in this thread, to and verify your ReadyNAS NV+ setup.
-minerva - Phil8021AspirantI also have the user offline problem when trying to access an album from an email link sent to myself. I have tried the add-on suggested and I have made sure that the user ID and password for readynas are identical with the share.
I can see the photos locally via readynas photos but the link just does not want to work. Every time I get user offline.
I am not happy that the software either tries to duplicate the photos when loading or creates a new folder named after my readynas photos user. Is there any way to prevent this? Currently my photos are under media/pictures. As I said, I can see the photos using the readynas photo software.
I want to have my photos on the NAS. I want to be able to access the photos locally and via the internet. I want to let relatives see the photos. So far I have wasted hours on trying to get this to work with the Readynas software.
I am using an imac. The nas is connected via a gigabit switch.
I really do not know what else to try. Do I need to buy a QNAP? Any ideas? - minervaAspirantRe : User offline problem :
* Make sure you have the latest version of the ReadyNAS Photos Add on installed on the your ReadyNAS. You can download the latest version of the Add on here : http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=617. If you did not have the latest version of the Add-on upgrade to this version.
* After upgrading to the new version of add-on, if you are still experiencing the user offline problem the please check the following.
Is your NAS setup with DHCP IP or Static IP? If static, do you have a Gateway and DNS setup under Network>Global Settings.
Do you have System>Alerts Contacts setup as well, and receive those (you can Send a Test message there as well)?
Also, does the 'Check for Updates' under System>Update work, or report connection problems?
These things will help us narrow down any connection issues your NAS has with reaching the Internet.
For the shared photos to be accessible, your ReadyNAS should stay connected to the internet.

Please see my answer to the same question here : viewtopic.php?f=58&t=26040 - wobo1AspirantHi!
Trying to make ReadyNAS Photos on my ReadyNAS Dou available externally.
That means I will be able to update albums and such things from anywhere using my laptop and an internet connection.
Trying to connect to it at work right now. Get invalid credentials however I try.
I have the latest ReadyNAS photos addons, it is online.
Got the latest ReadyNAS Photos desktop application.
Dunno what to do now.
Got the media share so it have read/write with CIFS.
It also is http/s read only with exception to my account which have allowed user access.
Do you need to configure router/firewall in some way that I don't know?
