ReadyNas Pro Pioneer (RNDP600E-100NAS) No longer recognized by Raidar or DLNA Device
As of June 15, 2025, my Roku system (DLNA app), plus RAIDar 4.2.31, and simply using the admin URL are no longer seeing or decting my ReadyNAS.
I am on MacOS 15.5 Sequoia. I last accessed the ReadyNAS about a month ago and the Roku DLNA app could see and access my files just fine.
I can access the ReadyNAS from a finder window in the MacOS and get to my files. Thank goodness I can access my files, but I cannot stream my media.
Any ideas why RAIDar, and the DLNA apps are saying there is no dectable device to access?

I found the software update for OS 6 v. 10.10 ARM the supported ReadyNAS models for this did not specifically list my unit which is RNDP600E-100NAS. Also the site would not provide an installation guide or manual when I clicked on the links. I received the 404 page error message for these.

There is a very specific procedure for the conversion to OS6, it's not just a normal update. It reformats the drives, so you'll need to backup and restore everything. While still old, it's far newer than the 4.2.31 you're currently running and it will eliminate some issues with accessing the NAS caused by OS 4.2 only supporting TLS 1.1 and SMB1. Whether the ReadyDLNA that's a part of 4.2.31 is also now too out of date, I do not know -- I don't use DLNA. But OS6 would definitely have a newer version of that, too.
Your NAS also has a rather slow processor. While it can still run OS6, it will run better with an upgrade. That will probably require a BIOS update, too, based on the age of your unit. Your NAS, unless you've already upgraded, has a Pentium Dual E2160 @ 1.80GHz. It can handle a Core2 Duo E7600 @ 3.06GHz with the latest BIOS. That's not a speed demon by today's standard, but it's a huge improvement. And these days, they are really cheap on eBay. If you plan to upgrade to OS6, be sure to update the BIOS first. There is an easy add-on to do so in OS4.2.x, but it's a pain with OS6.
The details for all of this can be found by searching the forum.

Thanks Sandshark!
I'm going to take some baby steps here recommended by StephenB, and update at least the RAM, and update the x86 firmware and then to OS6. Appreciate the tip on updating the BIOS before installing OS6, I will look up how to deal with the BIOS.

As I mentioned above, you wouldn't be using the ARM firmware. If you want to get some idea about how OS-6 differs from 4.2.x, you can find the software manual here:

StephenB,
Thanks for responding. You're correct on firmware and I was unaware of the ability or necessity to run the NAS on OS 6. I'm definitely getting timed out trying to access the admin page using my browser.
Most of my files are backed up.
I checked on RAIDar version and its 6.5
I will poke around the Netgear site, but can you point me in the right direction to convert the NAS to run OS 6?
Again, thank you for responding.
Steve

Your data is at risk, so the next step is to back up everything you care about. Do this before you reboot the NAS.

Netgear doesn't support the conversion, but they don't support your NAS anymore anyway. It is not a necessity, just an option. It does require the disks to be reformatted, so you need a full backup of the files. You'd also need to upgrade the ram to 2-4 GB (easy to do, and in-expensive).
Note you'd use the X86 firmware, not the Arm firmware. We can give you instructions, but the main thing now is to figure out what is happening with your NAS.
Is there any indication of a problem on the LCD panel?

Is this with Safari? When was the last time you successfully accessed Frontview?
- srwFLAAspirant
I primarily use Safari, but I also tried to access the admin page with DuckDuckGo browser and both timed out. I also use Firefox on my Mac.
If Frontview is the admin page that RAIDar takes you to, its been at least 6 months since I last accessed that.
Duly noted on the X86 vs. ARM firmware update. Thanks!
The LCD panel is not indicating any problems, and it appears that all six drives are on.
I will look up and figure out what type of RAM to get to upgrade to 4MB and Sandshark recommends upgrading the processor too. Perhaps I will do the processor upgrade after stabilizing the current situation,
I will get everything backed up before I start doing all these steps, and please do share instructions on the X86 firmware update.
Thanks for your continued assistance!

RAIDar versions are 4.3.8 and 6.5, so something isn't quite right here. I am assuming that you are running 4.2.31 firmware (and have not converted your NAS to run OS 6).
Are you getting a timeout when you browse to https://nas-ip-address/admin?
Do you have a backup of your files?
