Sabnzbd no install directory on Nas

I have installed Sabnzbd and changed the download folder to the following;

/d/Downloads/complete

I have set permissions to 777, my D partition is my media drive as C is used for work backup. I don't see the Sab install folder on my Nas or the downloads even after they have completed. What have I done wrong, is like its not even there, no trace on the NAS when I browse it.

  • Ok, so I have changed the permissions and I can now see my downloads however I could see them before I just couldn't access inside the folders. However I am still at a loss as to how I access the Sabnzbd folder to be able to delete incomplete and the like. There is a media folder on the NAS set to everyone for permissions as I do not have any users or groups set up. I have tried to map a share to media with user credentials set in windows to admin and the correct password to the NAS but that always fails so I'm not sure what to do now.

    Anyone know this ?
  • Your going to want to set your Temporary Download Folder in Sabnzbd+ to somewhere accessable to normal users. I set mine to:
    /Downloads/Usenet Downloads/Files (Incomplete)
    and the completed downloads folder to:
    /Downloads/Usenet Downloads/Files (Complete)
    Your going to want to set the owner/group for your "Downloads" share to admin/nobody. Otherwise Sabnzbd+ will keep bugging you that it's unable to change the permissions on your incomplete folder. It does this when downloading to stop access by other users and hence corruption of the downloaded data. Once the queue is clear, Sabnzbd+ seems to open up the folder for general access again, so that residual cleanup can be resumed.

    As for failed jobs which haven't been deleted, go to Sabnzbd's Status -> Queue Repair menu, and you can delete any jobs which failed, and the NZB was deleted from the queue, but the files were not removed.
  • Thankyou a lot for the reply I have moved the folder like you suggested, however like you also say I am getting the error messages in Sab, I'm not sure what you mean about:

    Your going to want to set the owner/group for your "Downloads" share to admin/nobody

    I have no groups setup so in permissions at the moment it just says folder owner nobody folder group no group.

    Could you be more specific as I am a little bit dim :-)
  • Change the folder owner to "admin" and leave the folder group as is. You will probably need to apply the "Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings." for it to apply to existing files/folders in the share, and also enable "grant and rename priviledges to non-owner of files" so that users other than admin can access / modify / delete files.

    Since you have a Duo v2, with the new UI and not the older "Frontview" UI, I cannot point you to where to set those options, as i'm unfamiliar with the new interface. These "advanced" settings might not even be available, somebody else with a Duo v2 or NV+ v2 might be better able to point you in the right direction as far as this is concerned. It may also be listed in the manual.
