Can't access web GUI setup
Recently have been unable to login to the frontpage gui, but Raidar still sees the NAS and the shares still work. When I try to use the gui, I never get prompted for a username/password. All started when I was trying to add the NAS to my Readycloud. Is there a lockout if the password is tried too many times? This is going on for about 4 days now.
Tried Win8.1 Pro & Win 7 Ultimate with IE and Chrome to access the GUI.
Tried reloading the OS twice now and even attaching the Pro2 to a different router on a different subnet. No luck. I updated it previously to OS6, so support from Netgear may be an issue. Was running 6.1.4. I see that 6.1.5 is now out. Is there a was to update the NAS to 6.1.5 via USB stick? Is that worth a try.
Since I can access the shares still, I already backed up everything to another drive. Is a factory reset the last resort? Would it reset to OS6 again?
Any help really appreciated.

- human102GuideI uninstalled an app (ajaxexplorer) 2 days ago and lost access to my setup. RAIDar finds it. I can Ping. Windows explorer allows file access. I reinstalled OS and same problem. I tried different browsers deleting the cache as well.. Same problem.....No admin GUI.
I will copy data to usb drive tomorrow before a factory reset. I was in a lengthly chat support yesterday and was told others are experiencing the same problem.
Any help or advice would be comforting. - euphosAspirantTry re-installing ajaxexplorer via SSH. I uninstalled an app yesterday on both my 104 and Pro2 and lost the admin GUI. I re-installed the app, and the GUI is back.

I've got the same issue. RN516 was working great up until the other night. I uninstalled (via gui) the Readynas Surveillance app. Now, I cannot access the main web gui at all. Box responds on SMB shares, FTP, Ping and Raidar. SSH is NOT enabled, so I cannot get to console.
I've:
Rebooted.
Booted after unplugged
Switched the NIC port and pulled a different IP
Tried to enable SSH via tech support command (which relies on the gui answering, so that doesnt work either)
Nothing worked!
Spent over and hour getting to tech support and waiting on them, whom were entirely useless. She only tried the same things I had done already and did not listen to me when I told her that I did those tests already. She told me to take the box out of production, put in boot support mode and wait up to several days for a L3 tech to try and fix it. That's obviously NOT and option for a production NAS.
Edit: the techs on this support forum fixed asap. See my later post.
I was going to try to reinstall O/S, I'm glad others here said that it doesnt work before I tried it. I've got 14 TB of data on here, so backing up is no easy task! - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Painful though it is, I think you should put a backup strategy in place.chickenpuncher wrote: I've got 14 TB of data on here, so backing up is no easy task! - DanthemNETGEAR Employee

Hi Chickenpuncher,
Unfortunately since SSH is not enabled on your device we do not have much option here other than putting the device in to tech support mode - please follow instructions here; http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23005
Note that your data will be unavailable while in tech support mode but it takes me less than 5 minutes to resolve this once I have remote access to your unit so if you want to maximise uptime, just send me a pm before putting it in to tech support mode to make sure I'm available to pick it up right away.
I will be available for a couple of hours.
Edit: Chickenpuncher's device is now fixed. - chickenpuncherAspirantI plan on adding a rn104 for backup, wasn't really planning on it this quickly though.
- chickenpuncherAspirantResolved with a little help from Danthem at Netgear! Was able to coordinate a tech support boot and Danthem had it fixed in about 3 minutes.
Note: was instructed not to uninstall and apps until the 6.2.3 release happens, due to a known glitch that causes apache to fail. But, upgrades to apps should be okay. - thegerm22Aspirant

Please boot your device in to tech support mode as per instructions here: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... _boot_menu
Send me a pm when done
