Factory reset also format disks ?

Hi,

I had an issue with my RN 10400 recently bought.
I played with the parameters to add a friend as user so he can access it. I finally managed to do it.
But then I couldn't access my own nas locally on the file explorer like I used to.

I didn't manage to make it work again, so by searching a bit, I found a button to reset the parameter to factory.
I had to type the word "FACTORY". I thought this would reset all the parameter to the default value like told. Since there was no word saying it will also delete the content of all the disks inside.

But instead the volumes was wiped and rebuilt.

So my question is :

My data are lost, nothing I can do to retrieve it ?

My suggestion is :

When we do what I did, put a warning in bold red capslock that says it will erase all the disks... I thought it was just to reset the parameters/settings or the firmware...
