Is it possible upgrade firmware via ssh console ?

Hello,

We have cca 200 devices around Central Europe.
We found that we can not update firmware via web interface(local update, web update is not possible because of proxy policy). It fails every single try. Is it possible to get some HowTo, how to do that via console ? Upload to specific directory, check of file, run update.

And why do we need udate it ?
Portmap and frontview is killed by OS too often. We would like to try update.

  • From chirpa:

    $ cd /tmp
    $ wget http://www.readynas.com/download/RAIDiator/RAIDiator-4.1.4
    $ echo /tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.4 > /.cf_update_in_progress
    $ reboot

    Keep in mind that the command will change with each firmware revision that's released:

    $ wget http://www.readynas.com/download/RAIDiator/RAIDiator-X.Y.Z

    This method does work for updating the firmware. Not recommended though as it skips the check to see if the firmware image is corrupt.

    No updating add-ons is done differently. What add-on are you seeking to update?

    Should be clear that it is possible to install some add-ons via SSH but the method is different.
