NV+ & Virgin Superhub no connection
Hi I've searched but not really found anything that answers my query.
I've Inherited an NV+ which I've factory reset and had working upstairs on dhcp over a Belkin Powerline adapter. Works fine (if a little slow).
I've moved it downstairs and plugged directly into our virgin superhub in the hope of getting a better speed. However the NV+ doesn't recieve an IP, just defaults to 192.168.168.168. I've played around with a few settings but with no luck. Both devices have the latest firmware and have had factory reset. i've checked via the powerline adapter and on a shared pc ethernet connection. Both times it recieves an IP. and thoughts anyone?
Thanks

- mrmandrillAspirantYeah the computer I'm on receives IP and works fine, same cable, same port.
It's a Cat 5e cable, would that make a difference? - vandermerweMasterIs there anything in the superhub log to suggest the NAS is making attempts to get an IP address, something like dhcp request?
The NAS MAC address is in your superhub MAC address filter if you have this on?
You did not say whether raidar can see the nas?
Did you reboot the superhub after connecting the NAS to it?
If raidar cannot see the NAS then there is a problem with the connection between NAS and superhub. The cables are 5e that is fine; and you have used the same cable that was used upstairs to connect the NAS? - mrmandrillAspirantNo Mac filtering present. Error logs show nothing. Raidar can see nas, but only when connected via power line adapter.
- vandermerweMasterI've run out of ideas. There seems to be a physical problem with the connections when you are trying to connect it up to the superhub.
The sunset settings are all the same I presume.
Do you have a switch that you could place between the NAS and superhub?. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you haven't rebooted the superhub, I suggest that you do so.
Perhaps also try a different cable.
If you have a switch, I agree it would be sensible to try putting that in between the NAS and the router. - vandermerweMasterI think OP has tried various cables.
He hasn't confirmed whether he has rebooted the superhub though. - mrmandrillAspirantI'd like to resurrect this thread because I've just come back to the NV+ box and trying to get it working.
Since my last post I've tried to connect the device to to a corporate GB network and on several attempts tried to connect to the superhub again, nothing....
currently it works when connected via a powerline adapter, but not via any other switch / direct connection.
I've seen a few other posts out there about GB not working, any thoughts? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserGigabit works fine with my NV+. It's connected to a Dlink DGS-2208 at the moment, but it has been connected to my GS724T and my GS108T in the past. Link speed shows 1 gigabit.
- mrmandrillAspirantHmmmm, might try a factory refresh
- mrmandrillAspirantTried backing up and full factory reset, still not working. Orange light and not connecting on 1Gbit
