NV+ Boot Issues - Weird LED Pattern Case #16319419
I checked out the LED patterns here: http://www.readynas.com/download/docume ... AS-LED.pdf
There wasn't a pattern that matched mine, so I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction for this.
When I turn the power button on, Disk 1 LED blinks 2 times slowly, then All LEDs blink and Power Button 3 times fast.
Please tell me there is something I can do, all my data is there and not backed up.
Thanks.

- ChrisMc73AspirantYeah, being I can't shut down after power on, I can't hold it for 5 seconds and get any of the checks to work, I really can't do anything. How will support go about determining that? Will they send me new hardware upon that conclusion? Do you know how long it will take, I'm a photographer and all my RAW photos are stored on the NAS (for redundancy) and right now I'm dead in the water.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThey may be able to interpret the light pattern. If the damage was caused by a power failure (e.g. involving a power surge) then it wouldn't be covered by warranty. Anything and everything in the hardware (including the disks) could be affected.
- ChrisMc73AspirantThat's good news. Not really.
- ChrisMc73AspirantThis is the APC unit I had it hooked up to...

So if Netgear doesn't cover it, APC should right? They have the surge guarantee? - ChrisMc73AspirantI really hope I get a response today. I need to do something about this asap.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIt could be a coincidental problem or just an issue as a result of an unsafe shutdown. Tech support will hopefully be able to get an idea from the light pattern. I would be patient and wait for their response.
If your other hardware is O.K. then it probably isn't a power surge problem, I guess. - ChrisMc73AspirantYeah, I'm going to be optimistic and hope that it wasn't a surge issue. I appreciate your help so far.
- ChrisMc73Aspirantmdgm,
Is there a model APC UPS/Serge that you suggest for the NV+? (If I have to replace this one)
I would like one that is small and doesn't break the budget, that has the feature where it will shutdown the NAS automatically when sent to battery.
Suggestions? - ChrisMc73AspirantDoes this UPS work with the ReadyNAS NV+ for auto shutdown?
http://www.amazon.com/Cyberpower-CP1500 ... pg__header - ChrisMc73AspirantWell I've sent messages back and forth with the Online Technical Support team, my NAS is not responding to anything they want me to try, after their last suggestion, which was to take out the drives and boot it up and try to get into "tech support" mode, and it failed, this is the message I got...

I'm pretty sure the engineers know that something is wrong with this hardware. How long will this online tech support draw out with back and forth messages? I really need to get this resolved and get to my files, if I can.
