NVX Suddenly Disallows ADS Folder Share Access - #16834893
Setup:
Win Server 2003 R2 with AD enabled
Model: ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition [X-RAID2]
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.19
Memory: 1024 MB [5-5-5-24 DDR2]
Issue:
We've had this NAS for several years and only within the last year we migrated from local users to AD. Every 5 months or so we would come into the office in the morning and none of the users would have access to folder shares. In the past we have upgraded firmware, rebooted, and/or re-joined the domain in order for it to work again. However, it happened yesterday morning and we upgraded the firmware then re-joined (after several tries) and it was fine. Then again this morning it was not working again. It took a reboot several tries to rejoin the domain. Obviously there is no firmware fix for this, and the forums have a handful of similar complaints but without solutions. There is no NTP issue.
Nothing has changed on the DC in the last 5 months or two days.
Any suggestions?
Ed

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you able to open a tech support case (http://www.readynas.com/support)? Please edit the thread title (i.e. subject of the first post in the thread) to include your case number.
- EDtheSOCKAspirantThanks for the suggestion but it appears that I must subscribe to the ProSupport as it is past the initial 90 days. Considering all of the factors, we would prefer to remove the NAS from service and purchase a replacement in a competing brand. If I have misunderstood your request to get a support ticket, please clarify.
Thanks,
Ed - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou can still open an online support case. See info in the link I gave.
- EDtheSOCKAspirantCase submitted - title edited. Thank you.
