Problem with RN102 after 6.2.1 update #24398652
Hello everyone. Today I made an update to version 6.2.1 OS6. I do not know what tempted me, it seemed to me that everything will play as with previous updates. After the update I uninstalled ajax 4. System announced that after uninstalling needs to do a reset. Up to this point everything was ok. However, after the reset RN102 does not want to get up. I can not log in to the administration panel, Readycloud shows that the device is offline and the LED "power" on the case all the time just blinking. FTP also can not get the resources. The only place through which I can get to the RN102 is windows explorer - at least for the moment.
I would add that I have only one disk and do not want to do a reset to factory settings because I do not want to backup almost 2TB of data ... I do not even no place anywhere.
Is it possible to do something about it?

- piechuAspirantNAs was off when I reinserted the disk. The data is ok.
I can browse the NAS via Windows Explorer or connect to the NAS via RAIDar. Unfortunately I can not get into the admin panel. Readycloud shows all the directories in RN102 but I can not browse from this level. - vandermerweMasterI think you need to start making a backup.
After that, test the disk using vendor tools.
It is possible that someone could look at your system remotely to see what is wrong, but the easiest way to sort this out would be to backup, factory default and restore from backup.
I assume the nas is out of its 90 day support period? - I am facing exactly the same problem since I upgraded to v6.2.1! Cannot access the web-GUI but no problem to see my files... I guess it is related to the new firmware...

I bought it November 14, 2014 in Poland, if it has any meaning.pinky2000 wrote: I am facing exactly the same problem since I upgraded to v6.2.1! Cannot access the web-GUI but no problem to see my files... I guess it is related to the new firmware...
So why we as users have to bear the consequences of error Netgear? I do not have space to back up all data on the NAS and do a reset to factory settings. Total lack of responsibility on the part of Netgear - releases the update if it is 100% sure that it works. - vandermerweMasterOk if the nas is that new you must contact Netgear support, you have 90 days free support for this sort of thing. You can either phone them or file an online case at mynetgear.com where your product was registered.
That's why I said not to do anything drastic like USB boot or factory default, it is probable that this can be fixed remotely.
You are unfortunately just unlucky, but Netgear support is very good I can assure you. When you have filed a case ( do it now, online) put the case number into the thread title.
Here is the link you need in Poland:

You should backup your data regularly if it is important to you. Whether a factory reset is an appropriate solution for a problem is another issue. - dsnpevlVirtuosoSeems to be related to the connman (Connetion Manager) version in 6.2.1. Possible solution suggested here:

My switches start behaving erratically after the update. All the ports start blinking in tandem. I have a Netgear switch (GS108T). When this happens, I cannot access the network at all (from all the devices on the network). Since I could not access my device, I had to resort to data recovery procedure for OS6 by mounting it in a linux OS.
Thankfully, the data was recovered.
Now, I did a OS reinstall + factory reset. Installed two applications (Squeezebox Server + Bittorrent Sync) created my folders, copied back the data and behold, the issue starts once again. I switch the network cable to the other interface and this issue is resolved temporarily to reappear once again.
This also happens on the Readynas Pro2 device that I hack-updated to OS6 in addition to RN312.
This is definitely a firmware issue. Not sure how Netgear would resolve it since the device cannot be connected to the network.
Thanks,

I have RN516 and also GST108T. Your symptoms match the problems I had exactly. Your 6.2.1 update contains a connman version 1.2.7, that I'm pretty sure is causing the issue. In the thread mentioned below it is suggested that this version of connman is claiming almost all CPU and sending lots of invalid packets that cause your router to fail (and the switch to blink in tandem) and all other network devices to loose connection.
Read more in this thread for a root cause analysis and suggested solution (downgrade to connman 1.26):

Looks promising but for someone like me, not having to deal with on a daily basis with linux, it all sounds like black magic. I suspect that I am not able to downgrade manager by myself.
It was not that all these problems were not unreasonable conduct Netgear. I have no way of backup and I will have in the near future and constant reminders of the need to carry it out to nothing lead. In addition, even if I had the opportunity this and so restore the device to factory settings a little help if the problem is actually a module connman.
This is all ridiculous. Not having access to the web-GUI can not switch the power manager NAS. At the moment I have the Christmas holiday and by the schedule, which had so far off I set NAS during use, and I have to start it manually. I can't also via the web-GUI to copy at least part of the data on the USB 3.0 portable drive (copy through windows explorer takes forever).
