RAIDar can't find NV+ V2
Hello guys,
new to the ReadyNAS community (had the enclosure for a while, just haven't used it yet) the problem I have is RAIDar won't find my NV+ V2 but I can log into it via Safari. I want to set it up JBOD. My hardware is as below.
iMac 2.9ghz i5 w.16GB RAM
OSX 10.8.3
RAIDar 4.3.4
BT HomeHub 3
Does anybody know why RAIDar won't find it but I can log in via Safari? Am I doing something really basic incorrectly?
Thanks in advance, Wayne

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAre you certain you have a v2? The label is misleading - check here: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/
What firmware is the NAS running?
Are you perhaps using wireless? RAIDar depends on ethernet broadcast packets to get through (that is what it uses to discover the NAS). - planet_waynerAspirantYes sorry wireless, my other NAS (WD 6TB MBLD) is in that port. I'll try that and see if it helps. Will report back.
- planet_waynerAspirantOK here's where I got...
It wasn't detectable via homeplugs but was when plugged directly into the mac. Which leads me to two follow up questions if I may be so bold?
Once setup is complete I can plug it into my router and access it wirelessly from now on?
As I add further drives to bays 2-4 each one will format to match the JBOD structure of the one already installed?
Far too many follows up questions but I believe these are the two that are burrowing into my brain at the moment. I appreciate any answer of course. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Generally yes. RAIDar discovery might not work, but you don't really need that once the system is setup. ReadyDLNA might also be an issue (since it also depends on broadcast packets).planet_wayner wrote: ...Once setup is complete I can plug it into my router and access it wirelessly from now on?...
I don't own a v2. However with ReadyNAS generally, if you are in flexraid/jbod mode the system won't format disks automatically. After you insert them, you go into the dashboard and set them up.planet_wayner wrote: ...As I add further drives to bays 2-4 each one will format to match the JBOD structure of the one already installed?...
