- sdouekGuide1) In frontview go to "Streaming Services" and uncheck the following:
******* a) Automatically update database.
******* b) ReadyDLNA, enables playback of videos, music and pictures from DLNA/UPnP AV network media players.
2) Make sure both boxes are empty and then hit apply. (I initially did not do this and this is why my first downgrade did not work)
If you can't uncheck both boxes it won't work.
I would reboot unit and double check if DLNA is still offline and then proceed with the rest of the tutorial.
Make sure you are downgrading to the proper OS for your unit too. - mrbellowAspirantThank you for yr attention , but ...no way!
In your tutorial , when I reach n.8 , the scan in progress button stays greyed out. From the network I can only see a part of my music files (with different dlna clients : a pc running windows , a Sony TV , an Emtec multimedia player , a Naim Network music player , etc...). Using a multimedia server installed on the Ready Nas (such as Logitech Media Server) I can see all of my files; but logitech media server and twonky media server are not totally compatible with my Naim Music Network Player ND5 XS (logitech media server won't play Wav files and twonky can't manage the playlist function of the naim streamer app for iPod).
Through Dlna everything works well but I can't see all of my files so it's almost useless.
The last lines of the upnp -av log are:
[2012/12/25 21:56:53] upnpsoap.c:1739: warn: Returning UPnPError 402: Invalid Args
[2012/12/25 21:56:59] upnpsoap.c:1739: warn: Returning UPnPError 402: Invalid Args
Don't know what to do - superandreaAspirant

There now you have OS 4.2.21 and DLNA 1.0.25 working.
Many thanks for this, I was aware that I have a problem but did not know that it was so broad issue... After applying your adviced solution - suddenly, all my movies are available to me ;-)
THANKS!!!! - sdouekGuideI personally am staying with 1.0.24.5 it is more stable in my opinion.
- mcbrayerAspirantI have been fighting with this issue today as well, and via the use of the Toggle_ReadyDLNA_Debug addon and with repeated scanning of all my media files, have determined that any of my AVCHD files (.MTS extension) will crash /usr/sbin/minidlna during its media scan. These files are unmodified from their original state as recorded by a Canon Vixia HF M40 camcorder.
I have an Ultra 4 with 4x2TB WD Red drives, running v4.2.22 and ReadyDLNA 1.0.25. The errors in kern.log that are thrown are all alike:
Dec 29 09:12:58 mcbrayer-nas kernel: minidlna[23906] trap divide error ip:80664d0 sp:ff8a8940 error:0 in minidlna[8048000+42000]

If there's any more information I can provide to providing a solution to this problem I will be happy to contribute. - torusAspirantHi: having spent a proportion of my Christmas holiday trying to tame my set-up (Duo v1, WDTV Live, Bravia TV etc) I've become aware I have a similar problem: previously I've been accessing files on the Duo via a 'network share' login on the WDTV- this has always worked fine, and stil does.
However, when trying to use the DLNA server, the media scan stops on encountering files larger than a certain size- I have some sizable Blu-ray rips in mp4 and mkv format (these files play fine), and it appears that the scan halts on encountering any file of about 5 gig in size or greater. As the scan progresses no further, the service never gets as far as scanning my music collection folder, and thus the NAS is useless when called on to act as a DLNA server.
Any clues? I'd be keen to try the downgrade and re-scan option that some have had success with: can anyone point me in the right direction of the best OS/ DLNA version to use for an original Duo? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAre you certain this is about file size and not something else (for instance header compression in the MKVs)? Also m2ts files break in the current readydlna
You can try installing the debug module here: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=27946
The log will then give you more information on where the scan broke.
Reinstalling the debug module reverses the logging behavior.
There are known issues with mts, m2ts in the current release. Downgrading to the older dlna might work.

x86: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/x86/4.2/ReadyDLNA_1.0.24.5-x86.bin - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt would be nicer if Netgear didn't over-write the html links on every update. (or if you could browse download/addons...)
- torusAspirantThanks for the responses and links- I downgraded to 4.1.8 and DLNA 1.0.2 4.3 but still the same outcome.
The reason I presume it's a file size issue is because of the files it hangs on: they're mkv's that play fine but are around 6 gig or higher in size- moving them to a separate folder allows the scan to progress, but I have to force a re-scan from the beginning each time this happens.
I'm just installing the debug log addon and will post the results...
