ReadyNas 102 fails to load admin page after latest firmware upgrade

system

Hi all. Got myself in a little bit of a pickle. Had my Readynas sind 2015 and apart from a few minor issues all has been working well.... till now. I recently discovered that one of my 3tb hard drives ( set in raid 1) has failed. I also have found there is later firmwares available for my unit. I have ordered 2x 4tb drives to put in the unit. today, I felt the uncontrolable urge to update the firmware. The unit would not find it automatically so I downloaded the firmware version 6.9.3 ReadyNasOS from the device page and updated it from the admin page. It all went through fine, restarted and I can access the data by entering \\192.168.1.103 and it can be seen no problem. RAIDar detectes the unit, shows only one drive available ( as I already know), sometimes manegment service is off line or system starting up or Volume PC1STAID RAID level1 Not redundant 1.3tb (47%) of 2.7tb used. I can use the BROWSE/ LOCATE/DOWNLOAD LOGS/ DIAGNOSTIC & RESTART buttons OK. If I open a browser ( I.E./ Firefox/ Chrome/Edge) and put the I.P. address in on Firefox I it just hangs on the Connecting to the admin page with the bar moving extremly slow and on the other 3 browsers I get a request for the ser name and password, after input I get the admin page come up for about 5 secs then refreshes to Connecting to the admin page and behaves like the firefox browser. Now, for obvious reasons I can not get to the settings page to roll back to 6.5.2. This has all come about as I was going to set up a new share via readycloud for a customer to download data recovered from his hard drive.

I have downloaded all the logs but unable to upload them as a zip file so if these are needed I can put them on my webserver for downloading.

Please help oh Guru's of Netgear NAS equipment.

Marc

    Hi PC1staid,

You may try first clearing the web browser cache, then close and re-open the browser, and see if you will be to access the admin page.

    Regards,

Hi, I have tried this on all three browsers I have on my system, also I get the same results on an iMac. I have just done a clean install on a customers PC, attempted the login again with the same result on I.E. and Edge. Am I able to do a roll back via the 6.5.2 on a USB stick plugged dirrectly into the 102? I have read firmware updates can be done this way, just not sure if a downgrade can be done.

      Thanks.

You should not downgrade to firmware prior to 6.9.0. There is something else that should be tried before resorting to attempting to downgrade the firmware.
