ReadyNAS 1500 Blank Front View
Hello.
We have a ReadyNAS 1500 that was working well until today. HDD 4 showed a blinking light so the unit was powered down. Upon powering the unit back up, FrontView allows you to log in (http://ip/admin) but nothing is displayed. I have executed an OS Reinstall and the issue is still present.
Could anyone shed any light on what may be going on and how we might rectify the issue?
Many thanks,
Chris
You've got a bad disk (probably disk 4). I've sent you a PM with details that should help you confirm which disk it is.

Hello chrispiner,
I have some questions to ask, I have summarized them below:
- Does RAIDar still detect the NAS?
- If so, what does it say?
- Can you still access the shares through Windows explorer?
- What is the current firmware version?
- How many disks are inserted?
- Do you have backup of the data?
It is possible that there is more than 1 disk causing the problem to access the NAS.

Thanks for your reply.
- RAIDar does still detect the NAS and labels it as: Volume C: RAID Level X2. Not Redundant. A disk failure will render this volume dead.
- We can still access the shares through Windows Explorer
- The current firmware version is 4.2.19
- There are 4 disks in the NAS, all of size 2TB.
- There is no backup of this data :smileymad:
Thanks!
Chris
