Readynas duo v1 + neotv550 no streaming
I use a readynas duo v1 with my media files, connected to my network. My hd player is the neotv 550. It used to work very well, but suddenly, it doesn't work any more. Indeed the ntv550 is not able to connect to the readynas (host not found). My network seems to work well as when I Ping the ip address of the ntv550 and the readynas, i get the right answer.
I assume my readynas is well configured as it used to work well in the past. I use cifs to share files with the ntv550.
CAN someone help me please ?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserMaybe try using the IP address of the NAS instead of the name (in the NTV550 config).
Another option is to configure the NAS and the NTV to use NFS (which performs better than CIFS for high-rate content). - Giusi71AspirantThank you stephenB for your answer. I already tried both solutions you mentionned (use ip address and NFS) without success. The NTV550 is still not able to even see the readynas, as if the readynas is not connected to the network. But it is well connected as I have access to it when using a PC.
I tried as well to disallow the firewall of my modem/router, open ports ... Nothing work.
I am completely lost. Don't know what to do more !!!! - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIs the NTV550 using wifi or powerline to connect, or is it using wired LAN?
Can you reach the NTV550's web page? If you enable DLNA on the duo, does the NTV see that?
Also, is your media in the built-in Media share on the Duo, or is it somewhere else? (there have been issues reported here with permissions on the built-in share).
One option is to factory reset the NTV550, and see if that solves it (a pain, but at least there is no data loss to worry about). - Giusi71Aspirant

Ntv550 is using wired LAN
The media is in the built-in Media share. How can i check if this is the issue ?

How can i reach the web page of the ntv550 and see if DLNA (which I enabled in the DUO is seen by ntv550 ?
Thank you very much dor your support - StephenBGuru - Experienced User

There are two ways. One is to create a test share, put a video into it, and configure the NTV550 to use it.
A quicker thing to try is to rename the media share (say to media1) and then rename it back (on the NAS).
Perhaps after that you could also reset the permissions of the files. There is a procedure (A second option...) here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=69847&p=387494#p387494
Open your browser and enter http://x.x.x.x where "x.x.x.x" is the IP address of the NTV. There are a variety of controls there, but the main thing right now is to make sure you can reach it.Giusi71 wrote: How can i reach the web page of the ntv550 Giusi71 wrote: How can i see if DLNA (which I enabled in the DUO) is seen by ntv550 ?
You'd first need to enable DLNA on the NTV system/advanced settings menu
After that press home, and choose "Browse Folders".
If you see "aA List all shared folders" on the right, then press aA (otherwise known as Subtitle).
DLNA servers should appear that the bottom of the list - the folder icon will say "dlna" and instead of seeing "server/folder" you will see "hostname:Readynas xxx".
As usual, the up arrow is the quickest way to navigate to the bottom of the list.
If you don't see it, try the control to rescan the network (labeled as "rotate" on the remote - at the bottom). - Giusi71Aspirant

I did the first way, creating a test share. This test share was nevertheless not visible in my ntv550 when i search for new media.StephenB wrote:

I see the dlna folder but the folder icon is not saying "hostname:Readynas xxx", but instead "myPCWindows7hostname:username of windows session" is it normal ?
Thank you again for your very helpfull support but I am becoming mad with that issue
I seen somewhere in the forum that the version 1.0.25 of ReadyDLNA might be an issue. Woukd it be possible to install an older version to see if this will solve my problem ? - Giusi71Aspirant

Effectively my computer was switched on when i did the dlna test. But now that I switched off my computer, i can not see the readynas dlna folder. There is no dlna folder at all. Therefore i think the issue is coming from the readydlna add-on version 1.0.25.
How can i revert to an older version ? I currently use raidiator ver 4.1.10. Thank you for your help - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWell, the NTV sees DLNA, but not from the ReadyNAS. So we know that. We also know that the connection between the NAS and the PC works. The core issue is that you can't see media from any CIFS or NFS ReadyNAS share on the NTV.
As far as DLNA itself goes, you don't need it with the NTV anyway. So I would turn DLNA support back off in the NTV. Unless you need DLNA with some other device you have, turn it off in the NAS as well.
When you rescanned the network, did you see any ReadyNAS folders (either with the ReadyNAS host name or its IP address)? Did you try setting up access to testfolder using the IP address or the host name?
Also, did you make any recent changes to your home network (install new switches, routers, etc)?
You can try downgrading to 4.1.9 Just download the image from here: http://www.readynas.com/?p=6480 and manually install it via Frontview. - Giusi71Aspirant

When I scanned the network I saw no readynas folder. I scanned using the hostname and the ip address with the same result. The same for the testfolder. It is as if the readynas was disconnected, but I can access it from my pc.
As i remember i made no change to my home network apart opening a port in my router for an application. But I tried alreasy to close this port without success.
I will try do downgrade.
Than you for your helpful support. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserLet us know if that helps. I am running 4.1.9 myself, though my pro is my main NAS, the duo is for backup. So I'm not regularly connecting my media players to the duo.
