ReadyNAS Duo V2 no Internet Connection

I've Got a ReadyNAS Duo V2 which works fine for storage and backups, but the unit itself isn't connected to the internet at all, and I can't seem to be able to get it to connect. I've just installed the latest firmware and the issue is still the same.

Is your NAS configured to use DHCP or have you set a static I.P. address on it?

Are the DNS and Gateway settings correct?
  • It's got a static IP of 192.168.1.2

I have no idea what the DNS and Gateway settings should be.

Try 192.168.1.1 as GW and 8.8.8.8 for DNS
8.8.8.8 is Google's public DNS server.

There are some other choices - you might try pinging them, and pick the one with the shortest round trip time.
    There's a list here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstrick ... ervers.htm

I know. It is just a quick way to test if it´s working.
    Easy to change afterwards

I agree 8.8.8.8 is good to use for testing, and it is likely a reasonable choice for long-term use.
