ReadyNas Duo V2 setup nightmare

Hi , my first attempt to set up a Netgear NAS box and quite possibly my last ,

Trying to set up a new duo V2 with one Samsung F1 750Gb hard drive. This works fine in a Synology and D-link Nas box and has no bad sectors - perfect working order.

On first installation attempt Raidar gave me corrupt root error. Then reading though the hardware manual I did a factory reset. This give me a bad disk error and the LED 1 just flashes blue.

I read on this forum that because I have used the drive in other NAS boxes that the partitions maybe confusing the Duo, so I deleted the partitions in windows and ran factory reset, same
bad disk error.

Is it an actual issue with the hard drive because its not on the supported list? I've read alot of negative reviews on the US Amazon page with people having set up issues.

Can anyone offer any suggestions before I sent it back for a different make... Thanks
