ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware
Hi,
I've had this problem for a while. Every time I try to upgrade the firmaware using the GUI, I eventually get a message back saying that the update failed:
Fri Oct 12 17:12:13 WEST 2012 Problem encountered while updating your ReadyNAS device.
These are the ReadyNAS details:
Model: ReadyNAS Duo [X-RAID]
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.6 [1.00a043]
Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]
Other than that, everything else seems to be working fine.
Thanks
MT

Please do e.g.
# rm /tmp/update_file
Can you also do
# cat /var/log/raidiator_version
# cat /.cf_update_in_progress - motah33Aspirantcat /var/log/raidiator_version
RAIDiator!!version=4.1.6,time=1247518584
The second command gives me:
readynas:~# cat /.cf_update_in_progress
cat: /.cf_update_in_progress: No such file or directory - motah33AspirantYes, I did try with 4.1.9 too which might explain the update_file. It's been deleted.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI don't recommend 4.1.9 due to an ownership issue. That's why I suggested deleting that.
What's the output of the following?:
# dd if=/tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.10 skip=1 | md5sum - motah33Aspirant
dd if=/tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.10 skip=1 | md5sum

Well you could try
# echo /tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.10 > /.cf_update_in_progress
# reboot - motah33Aspirantok.. rebooting...
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf all goes well the 4.1.10 update should take place now. Just wanted to make sure you had a good copy of the firmware update.
- motah33AspirantBooted and back in as root...
