ReadyNAS NV+ can't see from Raidar after linked Gigabit Swit
Hi,
After we upgraded our D-Link 10/100Mb Switch to a TP-Link SG 1024 Gb Switch, I can't see my ReadyNAS NV+ from Raidar any more, neither open admin frontview page, but I can still access shared files on it. Did any one see such problem before? Any suggest is appreciate.
My NV+ was set a Static IP address, after fail to detect it using Raidar, I disconnect it from Gigabit switch and link it to a 100M switch with my laptop, while I still can't detect it. Also reboot not help. ANy suggestion?

Can you see the NAS in RAIDar if you connect your laptop to your router via ethernet?
Welcome to the forum! - hillngAspirantThanks fr your quick response!
Can't see the NAS even connect my laptop to router via ethernet. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDid you make any other changes to your equipment when you upgraded the switch? For instance, a new router? Or perhaps installing IE10, or upgrading the laptop to a new OS?
Also, it would be helpful to know if you tried the OS reinstall. That will reset the admin password to the original default value (either netgear1 or password) and will also reset the ip configuration to dhcp. - hillngAspirantNo other hardware or OS changes other than Switch. I tried different browsers and no luck. I'll try to do a OS reinstall and let you know the result. It won't affect my data on HDD and user accounts and groups?

It shouldn't.hillng wrote: It won't affect my data on HDD and user accounts and groups?
Be careful you don't do a factory reset though - that will destroy your data and config. - hillngAspirantThanks, I did a OS reinstall and I can see and admin the NAS. BUT after I changed the default DHCP IP to a fixed IP address, I can still see it in Raidar and it shows the fixed IP I set, but can't open front view admin page in browser any more. Neither by host name nor the fixed IP and previous auto IP.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you set the fixed I.P. you probably didn't set the correct DNS or Gateway. A better method is to get your router to assign a static I.P. address to the MAC address of the NIC in your NAS and get the NAS to receive an I.P. address via DHCP from router. This way your NAS still gets a static I.P. address but it should be readily accessible should you change your router again.
- hillngAspirantFinally fixed the problem: Before change the IP from auto to fixed IP, must change the Global settings and Apply first. That means I have to use the auto assigned IP address as the fixed IP first, after check all other settings, change it to the IP address I wanted. I find that when you change both tab settings and Apply, the global settings were not saved properly.
Thanks for all your help! - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserHillng- Can you let us know what firmware you are running?
