ReadyNAS NV won't power on
I have a ReadyNAS NV that I bought back in April 2006 that will no longer power on.
1) I'm suspecting that the power supply has gone bad. Is there a way to check if this is the case? If I need a new power supply where would I get a new one?
2) If I decide to get a new unit, can I get migrate the disc without loosing the data?
Thanks in advance.

- chirpaLuminaryCould try this first: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/i_v ... hould_i_do
If that doesn't help, then most likely the PSU. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2708 - danyeeAspirantThe serial number of my ReadyNAS is outside of the service notice range for the fan (00DA2010000 ~ 000DA2010189).
I haven't enabled the schedule Power-Off/Power-On option on my NV, but I'll give it a try. If this doesn't work, I look at getting a replacement PSU.

I'm assuming that this is the correct replacement.
Thanks. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes that is the correct PSU for your system.
Did you notice a burning smell? You could remove the PSU and check for burnt capacitors or other damage: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/hardware/how_do_i_replace_the_stock_power_supply_on_the_readynas_nv - danyeeAspirantI tried disconnecting the backup battery, but still no-go on powering up. I took the power supply out and noticed a discoloration around the vent holes. There wasn't any strong smell of something burning.
Since I have the box opened up, should I replace the button backup battery?
I'll be ordering a new power supply and let you know how it goes.
Thanks. - danyeeAspirantInstalled new PSU and ReadyNAS NV is now working! Thanks for your help.
