ReadyNAS Ultra 6 v.6.9.4 . Shares missing, and Commit failed in WebGUi
Hi there,
Got some issues with my NAS, shares are not available in windows anymore, also not if i type the adress manually.
when i want to make changes in the webui, it says commit failed. if it is in the shares tab, or services tab of some other one that doesnt matter.
Last error was in the shares tab and had a 1004020001 fault code with them.
Lately my root drive (/dev/md0) was 100% full at an instant, did manage to get that back to a 80% full, still much, but i dont know how to get it more down ( there are apps installed such as Unifi Controller (symlinked to /apps), Plex, java, mono and so on.
I can acces my data trough webgui or winscp, just not trough normal use in windows.
Is there anyone with a bright idea, to get my shares back? and/or maybe to get the /dev/md0/ partition more empty? ( can i just move apps for instance, with a symlink?)
Thanks!
Bob

Basically you put everything you added in /apps, and symlink as needed in the OS partition. If you downloaded the Netgear version of Plex from Plex.tv, it should already be in /apps. As you likely know, /apps is a mount point for /data/.apps, so it is really on the data volume.
Are your shares listed in the NAS web ui? It'd be helpful to know if your issue is corrupted SMB configuation files, or if it is bigger than that.
- Nightraider89AspirantHi!
Thanks for your quick replay :)
In frontview i can see my shares.
Windows cannot.
Zo basicly , pihole and that stuff needs moving to the apps dir. Getting on that Tomorrow :) - Nightraider89Aspirant
Got my /dev/md0/ partition back to 48%. Mono, java, unifi, pihole, clamav all redirected to the /apps directory
after a reboot of the NAS still no signs of my shares in windows. In Frontview they are available

Normally it is 20-25% 48% should be safe though.

First thing is to check if smbd is running. If it is, then perhaps create a test share and see if it shows up in Windows.
After that you might take a look at /etc/frontview/samba/Shares.conf (and Shares.conf.admin).
