Using AD to authenticate without joining to Domain?
I'm using various software packages that allow Active Directory Integration, some via LDAP, without joining the domain (Jenkins-CI, SonarQube, Sonatype Nexus, VMWare vCenter, etc.).
Assuming there is not already a feature I'm missing, has there been any thought to a feature allowing the use of AD to authenticate (or using LDAP) instead of becoming a full domain member?
I have a scenario where adding the server to the domain is not worth the hassle and red tape just to use common credentials.
Thanks!

- xeltrosApprenticeNatively on the NAS, there isn't to my knowing.
That said you could use a third party app to access the shares like own cloud which can use AD authentication.
That is if you speak about your NAS, otherwise there is always the good old radius.
