NightHawk M1
I have an NightHawk M1 (SN: 6A8112NV52139). According to the AT&T coverage map, I'm close to a 5G coverage area (red circle). The M1 see what is in picture to. I know an M1 is supposed to be only 4G LTE so why am I even seeing 5G (ATT-WIFI-2pqM_5G?. Also, I can connect to the 5G and my speed almost doubles (30-40 mbps) over 4G (ATT-WIFI-2pqM) (20-25 mbps).
I would like to know, given this situation, if moving to a NetGear NightHawk M6 (designed for 5G) would give improvement over my M1?

Re: NightHawk M1
There's 5g cellular (5th generation) and 5g wireless (5ghz).
They're different. what you're seeing/connecting to is the 5ghz wireless.
The M1 isn't 5g cellular.
Would you see better speeds with a M6? Maybe? those maps tend to be a little generous on how much they actually cover.

Re: NightHawk M1
Got it thanks. I only use the M1 for my wireless so what you say explains it.
I guess now the question is if I upgraded to a M6, would it make a particle of difference in that 5G wireless.
Not sure I want to spend $600 to find out at this point.
Again, thanks for the quick response.

Re: NightHawk M1
Tough to tell you if it'll help or not.
5g cellular coverage is so spotty. You'd be better off seeing if someone has a 5g cellular phone and see if it'll connect and what speeds it'll get.
