WAX 610 API?

Does the WAX 610 access point have an API implemented, or any other way of programmatically change a setting (wifi key for guest wifi)?

Essentially, SNMPv3 is a good option for any network, and should definitely be used on public and internet-facing networks to protect against security risks and threats. SNMPv2 should be limited to internal networks, eg. where you can restrict the admin access to a limited audience only, for example in a dedicated management VLAN.

 

Netgear WAX in general, and specifically the WAX6xx, don't offer any CLI - everything is either Web or Insight Cloud managed. Ergo no ssh access, except of some private reverse ssh access for Netgear diagnostics and support purposes.

SNMP should allow to define/change a PSK for an SSID on a VAP.

I'm trying to decide which device to buy. So a 'should' does not really help me. Sorry for being blunt.

Also I read that SNMPv2 has security issues because it does not support encryption, and the WAX610 only supports v1 and v2. So it seems to me that enabling ANMPv2 is not such a good idea.

So, the WAX610 seems like a good AP performance-wise but for managing it does not provide:
- no ssh access

- no api

- no SNMPv3

 

How would one securely manage many of these devices? I want to install four of them and script the 

- setup

- firmware update

- frequent passkey change

 

Does anyone have an idea about that?
