I'd like to log in and change the default password. My current setup is the CM2050V connected to an Orbi RB850. This presumably is one of the two ways they mention to access the router login. From the manual:
Connect a WiFi router to your cable modem using an Ethernet connection, and
then connect a computer to your router using a WiFi or Ethernet connection.
2. Launch a web browser.
3. Enter http://192.168.100.1
Unfortunately, when I put in that address it doesn't work. Nor does the IP that the router might have from Spectrum.
Is my only solution a direct ethernet connection to the modem?
Thanks in advance

So change the IP address of the RBR back to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 then try 192.168.100.1. The Orbi system should not be in the same subnet as the modems IP address.

Re: CM2050V - How do I log in?
It doesn't seem to, even when I have my Orbi LAN settings as follows:
192.168.100.2 (Orbi IP)
Use Router as DHCP Server YES
192.168.100.2 to 192.168.100.254 as the Range

Re: CM2050V - How do I log in?
Actually for a new CM2000, replacing a CM1000 along with a new RAXE 500 router. Initial setup with the app. Everything was happy but no internet. Used Xfinity support to verify the modem connection. OK. Still no internet. Couldn't connect direct to the router using the IP address in the manuals. 192.168.1.1 worked. Was able to resolve the internet connectivity from there. System is alive again . Good download speed, just under 1gb, through the router, ethernet connection. (We'll see if that lasts.) (grin ) Thanks.
