CV7000V2 speeds with Xfinity
Hello:
I've upgraded to XFINITY's Extreme Pro Internet which should give me around 800Mbs download. I don't get anything more than around 200Mbs. Wired is around 200 and wireless is around 160. When I swap out the Netgear device with the new Xfinity Xfi device, the speeds increase to around 650Mbs (wireless). Should I be making a change to the Netgear device to allow for the increased speed. I hate the idea of having to rent my modem/router from Xfinity. The Netgear device is a C7000V2 modem/router at firmware level V1.03.03.
Thanks.

did you try factory resetting the c7000 and reinstalling it? Test its speed in the default configuration

No, I haven't. Will I need to get Xfinity involved after I do the reset?

If its connected and working, no.
If you had your xfinity box reprovisioned to your service, then maybe to get it reprovisioned.

Re: CV7000V2 speeds with Xfinity
A couple of things to keep in mind:
The C7000V2 is a DOCSIS V3.0 device. Comcast will eventually recommend you upgrade to a DOCSIS V3.1 device. They like to protect their rental revenue stream.
You can check here to see if your C7000V2 has the correct firmware. (note only the ISP can update the firmware, not the user)
