FVS318N Login Issue
I have bricked my firwall after a factory reset,
After a reboot it seems to boot normaly but nothing works (only as a hup)
Now i can nolonger access the device,
I am not able to telnet or web access the divice at all, and also i feel that it dit not reset the password.
De default IP 192.168.1.1 (192.168.0.1) does nog give any response so i can not ping
I am able to connect to the console with a serial connection, and boot the device here i see lots of errors seems the whole SQL is corrupt. after booting i get the message FVS318 Login:
I am not able to login here nothing seems to work here
When booting and pressing a key the auto boot stops an i can sent commands to the device
How can ido a firmware update from this point,
Will attach part of the messages

Re: FVS318N Login Issue
Hi PETROV,
Welcome to the community! 🙂
Let us try to power reset the FVS318N. Kindly do the steps below:
1. Disconnect the FVS318N from your existing network and make sure its turned on. Get a straightened paper clip.
2. Insert the paper clip to the factory defaults hole then press and hold the factory reset button inside it for 30 seconds.
3. After 30 seconds, turn OFF the FVS318N while you still continue to press and hold the factory reset button. Wait for 5 seconds.
4. After 5 seconds, turn ON the FVS318N while you still continue to press and hold the factory reset button. Wait for another 5 seconds.
5. After 5 seconds, release the paper clip from the factory reset button. Wait for the FVS318N to boot up properly. Observe the LED lights as well.
6. After it boots up, connect a PC/laptop to any LAN port of the FVS318N then try to login to its web-GUI.
Kindly answer the questions below:
a. What is the behavior of the LED lights after doing the power reset?
b. Are you able to get a valid IP address when you connect a PC/laptop to any port of the FVS318N?
c. Are you able to access and login to the web-GUI of the FSV318N/

DaneA

Re: FVS318N Login Issue
Hi PETROV,
Based on the results you have posted, it seems that the FVS318N got faulty. With regard to this, I suggest you to open an online case with NETGEAR Support at anytime. State what happened to your FVS318N and the troubleshooting steps we tried. Attach a .pdf or .doc copy of the Proof of Purchase or Sales Invoice of your FVS318N for warranty verification. If ever the hardware warranty is still valid, an online replacement will follow.

DaneA

Re: FVS318N Login Issue
I am not able to open an online case or upload documents
I can call or open a chat
I do have the proof of purchase, but did not register the firewall as the equipment has been used on different places by different people
