insight tcpip port
Does the insight service use a specific port when monitoring the registered devices? We are using Netgear GS752TPv2 switches. We have Polycom IP VVX Model phones that have a paging service which uses port 5001 for paging. Since we setup our switches with Insight the paging has stopped working. Is Insight using this port number for monitoring or other features, and if so, can that port be changed? Please advise. Thanks.

Re: insight tcpip port
According to the ENGINEERING ADVISORY (70568): POLYCOM UC SOFTWARE PTT/GROUP PAGING AUDIO PACKET FORMAT
Polycom Multicast PTT/Group Paging feature work by multicasting packets on a certain channel to an IP address and port set by an administrator. By default, packets are multicast to the IP address 224.0.1.116 using UDP and port 5001. Each packet consists of either a header, or a header and additional audio, depending on the packet type.
Netgear Insight does not make use of an inbound IP based service at all, the Insight cloud does neither try to communicate direct with the IP stack on the managed device, not does it make use of udp multicast AFAIK.
The problem you are fighting here might be the switch (or what else is in the data patch) might no allow passing the UDP multicast traffic for 224.0.1.116 and port 5001.
