Prosafe utility

Hello there, I am having trouble finding the GS108Ev3 and theGS105E switches on the network using the Prosafe utility.
I must admit I can not access the GS108Ev3 using the web-interface neither.
They do work however since they are directly connected to a R7000 router via LAN and my laptop is connected to the on of the switches using LAN so everything is fine regarding hardware communication.
I have tried both static and dhcp on the switches but it doesnt work.
I remember having this problem when I bought my GS105E many years ago but dont remember if I fixed it or not.
Latest fw and sw is used along with win 8.1
Another thing that might be related is that neither switch shows up in the "Attached devices" interface of the R7000 router even though they are obviously connected.
Thanks in advance

Re: Prosafe utility

Have you tried resetting the switch to default?

Re: Prosafe utility

Yes both switches have been reset, oddly now I can access the GS108Ev3 using the web-access mechanism however at the same time the exotic prosafe utility can not find neither of the switches!.
When logging into R7000 and looking at "Attached Devices" sometimes the switches can appear quickly but are gone when pressing "Refresh".
Since the switches appear intermittently under "Attached Devices" and then dissapper. could it be the reason the prosafe utility dont work?

Is there a software firewall installed on your PC like Kaspersky, NOD32 or Norton? If yes, kindly try to disable it and check if the Prosafe Utility can detect both switches.

Re: Prosafe utility

No I am using the built-in windows defender only, but when you mentioned the firewall I temporarily disabled the "private" but the "public" was on and our beloved prosafe utility worked 🙂
I checked the firewall rules and "prosafe plus utility", "netgearserver" and "nsdpmanager" are applied to the private network.
It seems "SNMP Trap" needs to be applied to the private network too for it to work.
I un-installed and re-installed the utility but the SNMP Trap was not added.
I am running latest win 8.1
Thanks
