No. If the array wasn't damaged when the RN324 failed, there whouldn't be any problem.
Just power down the RN424, and move the disks to it. Preserve the slot order (moving the disk in slot 1 of the RN324 to slot 1 of the RN424, etc). Power up the RN424 when you are finished.
However, it sounds like you have no backup of the data. RAID isn't enough to keep the data safe - so I do suggest putting a backup plan in place for the new NAS. Backup up to USB drives is one option.

OK fine, but I'm not sure of the order of the discs

You've already removed them?
Do you have a log zip file from the RN324? That will give you the serial number of the disks (sda being the first, sdb the second, ...).
If you don't have that either, you'll need to just put the disks in. The NAS will usually figure out the order. But in the future you should label the disks by slot as you remove them.

Now i have put the discs in the 424 and started it.
I get:
Err: Used disks Check RAIDar or Press Reset to format.

What is RAIDar telling you? https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar

It tells me that the discs are formated in an unknown way.

Ok.
There is no such thing as an RN324. I was assuming you had an RN314. But if the disks have an unknown format, then it is possible that you have a legacy ReadyNAS model.
So can you confirm the model of the NAS that failed?

Sorry. It "was" a 314

Re: Brokendown READYNAS 324 copy discs to new 424
Are you sure you have them in the right order? While the order doesn't matter, I've seen occasions where it does. Volumes consisting of multiple RAID groups seem to be one of the factors. I have it on my list to do some experiments to see is I can pinpoint the cause.
If you have them in the right order, you can try starting it up in read-only mode with each set of three drives to see if maybe just one is a problem and confusing the NAS. It's important to do this read-only so you know for sure you have the right combination of drives and can complete a backup.
If you get it to boot with just 3 and can access the files, then make a backup first. Then, reboot in standard mode and verify you can read and write. Then, hot-insert the 4th drive and it should re-sync.
An extra step would be to use the drive manufacturer's tools to check the removed drive before re-inserting it. No sense in putting back in the drive if it's really bad rather than just having corrupt data.

Assuming no combination of three drives worked and you need to recover data, I agree that paid support is likely your best solution.
