Change the RAID 5 level to RAID 6

I Have just set up my New Ready NAS 104 with 4 Hard drives.

It is set up in RAID 5 but I wanted to set it up in Raid 6.   How do I do this?

Re: Change the RAID 5 level to RAID 6

I tried the solution.

I have changed to FlexRAID but it starts up with RAID5 showing on the volumes and I cannot find a way of changing it to RAID 6

Change to flexraid, destroy the volume, and re-create it as RAID-6.

Then if you like, change back to xraid (or not).

Re: Change the RAID 5 level to RAID 6

u have to destroy the volume and then select all drives and create a new volume.  there will be a box to select raid6

Re: Change the RAID 5 level to RAID 6

Thanks Stephen.

Yes now I have done it it is fairly easy.   But looking at OS6 for the first time it is hard to find the correct buttons to select to get the desired result.

Everything is now working!

All I have to do now is sort out the "Shares" but I shall leave that for the moment and just use the system for a while on my LAN.

Cheers John
