Duo v1 or v2?

The model number of the V2 is RND2000-200. The V1 is RND2000-100.

I'm in the UK so the model number I bought was RND2000-100UKS - v1 unfortunately. I'll return this and make sure to get a v2 model. I've found one with the model number RND2000-200EUS. I presume this is a European version or have that got rid of the UK version and gone for EU? Can anyone recommend a retailer to get a v2 from?

I also have loaded up the HDD I bought separately with data. Is it possible to take this HDD used on the v1 device and put it straight in the v2 without data loss?

The EUS would be a European version. The region identifier basically indicates the language of included documentation, power plugs for a region etc.

No. See last sentence of http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_migrate_disks_over_from_an_existing_readynas_to_another

If you want to reuse the disk in the v2, you'll need to e.g. do a factory default (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu)

After backing up your data of course, unless it still resides on other devices as the factory default will wipe all data.

I looked at Amazon.co.uk and they listed 15 different vendors that could supply the RND2000-200EUS. On one of the listing it commented that only the 2 pin plug was available. I don't know if this is a European continent only standard, or if the UK also uses the 2 pin plug. Most of the sites mention that the unit would be dispatched from England, but at least one is dispatched from Germany.

Doing an internet search for RND2000-200UKS I get 0 results, but searching RND2000-200EUS I get several thousand. From that I would assume that there is no -200UKS model. (RND2000-100UKS returned over 6,000 results).

No. The RND2000-200 is the v2. The v2 will show it has RAIDiator 5.3.x under the Info (far right) column in RAIDar. The v1 shows that it has RAIDiator 4.1.x under the Info (far right) column in RAIDar.

That is correct. Plex is an Intel (x86) add-on, It will only install on Intel (x86) NAS units (e.g. Ultra, Pro), not ARM (i.e. Duo v2, NV+ v2) or Sparc (e.g. Duo v2, NV+ v2).

Think i am gonna replace my duo :(
