Hardware - the same in Duo as in NV?

Hi!
I´m having this problem: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=56262
From the support in Sweden, I got the answer that it will may cost the same to repair the Duo chassi as a new chassi for a Duo or a NV+. I also got the answer that my disks (mirrored) in the Duo now will not be formatted/overwritten if I chooze a chassi for a Readynas Duo or a NV+ because they had the same HW-configuration. Is that true? Does anyone here have another opinion?

I have some times felt limited with a 2-bay Duo and now a NV+ 4-bay NAS, could be a nice one to my needs.

Best,
//Magnus

Re: Hardware - the same in Duo as in NV?

Provided the data volume/array is still functional, yes, you can migrate from a Duo to another Duo or NV+. The Duo and NV+ both use the same basic hardware.

Also remember if you purchase a NV+, that because the Duo only had two drives you will need to initialize with just those disks and in the corresponding place as on the Duo.
