My old ReadyNAS Duo is dead, sadly, though the redundant SATAs inside are fine.
I need to transfer the data from the old, but good SATA retreived from the old ReadyNas Duo and tranfer it to my higher-capacity new SATA(s) inside the ReadyNAS 212.
I've tried a Sabrent adapter to retrieve the data off the old SATAs using my PC to no avail. Apparently the filesystem is different. Sabrent requires an initialization that will not permit me to access the data on those old SATAs. Not sure how to get the data off the old disks and onto the new ones.

You could also try installing r-linux for windows on the PC, and using the Sabrent adapter with disk 1 of the duo.

The filesystem, of course. I'm an idiot. Trying through a virtual linux box now. I'll post the results. Thanks for the help!

Re: Migrating data from ReadyNAS Duo to 212
I'm trying an equivalent of R-Linux for OS X called PhotoRec.
When it asks me this, how do I know which disk is my NAS SATA (Linux Ext3/4 filesystem)? None of these look like the right capacity.
Select a media (use Arrow keys, then press Enter):
>Disk /dev/disk0 - 500 GB / 465 GiB (RO)
Disk /dev/rdisk0 - 500 GB / 465 GiB (RO)
Disk /dev/rdisk1 - 498 GB / 464 GiB (RO)
Thanks
