RN104 Taking ages
Have just purchased ReadyNas RN104 second hand. Netgear are not interested in helping me! Cannot even transfere unit to my name!
It is taking ages to gwt the drives to be ready to use, two 2tb drives have been resyncing for 1 day and night upto now. I put the drives in and then booted the Readynas, since then have been counting the hours (73+)left! surely this cannot be right.

Re: RN104 Taking ages
Netgear's warranty and support is only available on new purchases. Personally I think the support limitation is a mistake.
What disks are you using? Have you looked at the SMART stats?

Re: RN104 Taking ages
Hi StephenB & Cliff Evans
I too wish that Netgear would support equipment purchased via the second hand market, for a start it would promote brand loyalty, could bring in extra revenue by charging a fee for 3, 6 or 12 months support and be kinder to the environment, i.e. nearly new equipment not ending up in a land fill site.
However, they've made a commercial decision and I guess that's that.

You can download the log zip file from the logs page.
Then look in disk_info.log.
