RN104 stuck in Boot Menu
Hi
I tool at look at my RN104 this morning as I couldnt access a file from it... I havent done any FW upgrades or anything, and it was working normally yesterday..
Today -
Looking at the NAS:
- Power Light = Blinking/Flashing
- Disk Lights = Off
- Act = On
- Display = Boot Menu
- Pressing Backup Button = displays Boot Menu - Normal
- Pressing Backup Button again doesn't do anything once Normal appears.
I have tried booting with and without discs - no difference. The NAS is also not showing as discoverable via RAIDar.
Any thoughts please?
cheers

Re: RN104 stuck in Boot Menu
Your UBOOT is probably corrupt and a USB recovery should fix it unless the memory itself (not just the content) is bad.

Re: RN104 stuck in Boot Menu
I have tried a USB recovery. I ve created a USB stick, and booted the NAS from the stick. It completes, then powers off - but when I power on the NAS again - same symptoms 😞
is there any way I can get to the memory to reseat it, or is it hard wired to a board?

Memory (flash and ram) are soldered to the board.
Have you tried powering down, removing the disks (labeling by slot), and then powering up? See if the NAS reports a "no disks" status.
Normally the NAS will boot from disk 1, and there are situations where an issue with disk 1 will result in a failure to boot.
