ReadyNAS 4 Ultra OS 6.10.8, any fix for the fan control?

Running ReadyNAS os 6.10.8 and also replaced the loud fan.
The fancontrol worked with the defaul OS. After upgrading to OS6 the fan control stopped working.
Nothing happens when chosing silent, balanced and cool. This was even with the original fan.
I remember ive read in a thread that after upgrading to OS6 the fan control will stop working.
But i dont know if theres a fix?

Fan running all speed now. ~1600rpm. ~18dB. Really quieter compared to original but still.
Would be nice if the GUI control worked 🙂
Otherwise i must install the low-noise adapters manually.

At least for the standard fan, that issue was solved a very long time ago.  And the only issue I've seen before on the boards with a replacement fan is one with a higher stall speed, so the fan min speed control parameter needs to be tweaked.

Aha!
I saw a thread on adjusting /etc/fancontrol with other values for Ultra 4 as i have. And there was other models too.
Might be needed then.

Re: ReadyNAS 4 Ultra OS 6.10.8, any fix for the fan control?

As i wrote in my post the GUI didnt change the fan behavior with the original fan either.
Full speed all the time. But with old OS4 the GUI was working to change the fan behavior/profile.

So there need to be done some manual config or install additional packages to get it working.
I can se the fan min and target speeds for the "fan1" and the min are 400 and the target 1800

Re: ReadyNAS 4 Ultra OS 6.10.8, any fix for the fan control?

Is it possible to try and control the fan manually with a command?
Or are fancontrol and lm-sensors or such needed to be installed?

Ive seen that readynasd reported my NAS as ReadyNAS

That wouldn't be an Ultra-4.  Is there an RND4000 part number on the ReadyNAS?

Yes, it says RNDU4000 as model on the back plate 🙂

That is the latest BIOS for the Ultra 4.

The new fan spins down within half a second and then turns full blast on NAS booting.
So i guess the system does something with the fan.

I just cant figure out how to control the fan since Silent, Cool and Balanced does not work.
PWM_MIN and all those seems correct.

Maybe i need to post in another sub topic?
ReadyNAS users or such..
