I need to use this back-up NAS again, that has not been used for a few years. Now I receive all kind of errors and cannot access files unless I use an old XP-computer.
--------------------------------------------------------------- Win10-64 computer: Choosing "setup" in Raidar, gives: "Deze site kan geen beveiligde verbinding leveren 192.168.1.201 gebruikt een niet-ondersteund protocol. ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH" meaning:
"This site cannot give a secured connection. .... uses a unsupported protocol. ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH".
Choosing "browse" in Raidar, gives: ..... This share uses out dated SMB1 protocol that is unsafe ... blahblah ... your system needs SMB2 or higher.
Gowing to the web interface, I only see "momentarely no shares available".
No menus, no wizard. Only menu options are "shares" and "Password" and "Log out".
Using explorer to set up a network path to the NAS, I get:
..... This share uses out dated SMB1 protocol that is unsafe ... blahblah ... your system needs SMB2 or higher.
---------------------------------------------------------------- XP-computer: (Radiator 4.2.31) Logging in on web-interface works fine, menus are complete and working. Files on NAS are accesible, so shares are present and working.
----------------------------------------------------------------- Is there a way to update the NAS firmware? Or to fix the WIN10-64 problem? I hope you have a solution.

As usual ... on the Windows 10 system, search "features" (works on any langauge), find something like "Windows-Features enable or disable", look for SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing, tick SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and SMB 1.0/CIFS Server, and confirm.

As usual ... on the Windows 10 system, search "features" (works on any langauge), find something like "Windows-Features enable or disable", look for SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing, tick SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and SMB 1.0/CIFS Server, and confirm.
You can access with Internet Explorer, Edge in IE mode, or with an old browser (configured to block automatic updates). Firefox 94.0.2 definitely works.
Once you have access, you can install the add-on for 4.2.x firmware at rnxtras.com. That will add TLS 1.2 support to your NAS.
Though I think a better solution is convert the Ultra to run OS 6. That would require a small investment to upgrade the RAM.

Thank you for your advice. I have not tried this one yet, but If I decide to keep using the NAS I might consider this.
