Readynas Ultra 4 Died

My readynas device will not boot up. First I thought it was a corrupt image, but then I pulled out all 4 hard drives. System still will not boot up. Once you hit the power switch, the fan starts up and spins for 15 seconds. Front screen stay black. Then system turns itself off. I tried to enter the diagnostics menu using the reset button on the back. Same thing happened as before. Please help ASAP. Thanks!

I submitted a case online also: 18843293

Re: Readynas Ultra 4 Died

Try unplugging the power and then holding the power button for 30 seconds. Then see if you can boot it in Tech Support Mode.

Not to sound like a jerk but do you even read posts before responding with some generic answer?

Re: Readynas Ultra 4 Died

Yes I read the post. Holding the power button in while it is unplugged from power resets the CMOS. If it is able to boot into tech support mode after that it can generally be repaired by our L3 support after creating a case. As you didn't mention clearing the CMOS, that is where I would suggest starting.

Re: Readynas Ultra 4 Died

You stated that you removed the 4 drives. But, you never mentioned whether you replaced the 4 drives or installed a blank spare drive for testing. No ReadyNAS will boot without at least one drive installed. You might want to go back through your diagnosis with a spare drive installed.
