Reformatting disks in a ReadyNas Duo
I am selling a ReadyNas with the hard drives I have in it.
Will doing a factory reset wipe the disks?
Is that the best approach to take to erase data?
If it matters, it's a RND2110 v1 running RAIDiator 4.1.14.

Re: Reformatting disks in a ReadyNas Duo
Yes, a factory reset will wipe the disks.
If you want to do a secure erase you can hook the drives up to a PC and use tools do that. The Ultimate Boot CD for instance includes some free tools such as Darik's Boot and Nuke to do this.
Unless you have a legal requirement to do a secure erase that shouldn't be necessary. The factory reset will be sufficient.

Re: Reformatting disks in a ReadyNas Duo
Thanks mdgm for your quick response. Appreciate the advice. I do not need to do a secure erase.
