Spec Sheets and Replacement Parts

I figured that it might be a good idea to create a thread where people might be able to obtain information about Infrant-branded ReadyNAS products that may no longer be produced or for products that are out of warranty.

Owners of Netgear-branded products should contact Netgear support.

Anyhow, here are a few links to existing threads that offer solutions, spec sheets, part numbers or third-party replacement items for the older Infrant-branded line-up. Feel free to add your own findings to the list.

Replacing PSU with 3rd Party Power Supply:

If you are having difficulty locating a replacement PSU from Netgear, you can elect to purchase a PSU from a third party, such as Enhance. The NV/NV+ PSU require modification from the standard ATX wiring. A number of users have posted there instructions in thread #1 (below). TrophyGeek & kspades have also posted photos.

1. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13492&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
2. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18618

As for the 600 & X6 ReadyNAS, the device uses a standard connector ATX PSU (although the form-factor is different). The only difference between the A & B models is that the 600 Rev. A requires a 20-pin ATX with 4 SATA connections, similar to something like this:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18618&p=100893#p100893

The original PSU for the X6/600a/600b was made by Enhance Power (http://www.enhanceusa.com) and was model # ENP-2222F. The A revision of the 600 had 4 SATA connectors, but it carried the same model # as the X6/600b (see pics below by chirpa).

Re: Spec Sheets and Replacement Parts

I have an X6 and need to replace Fan 3 again - we did it almost exactly a year ago. Previously, I just ordered it from the Infrant Store but since that is no more, I'm not sure where I can purchase it from. Does anyone on the board have any suggestions as to how to approach this?

Thanks,
Andy

I think this may do it for you:

I have replaced the fan twice so far in my ReadyNas x-6 rev A. Once fan has failed and it was replaced under warranty. Second time it was out of warranty and it was making rattling noise.

I found an identical fan manufactured for Silverstone by a third party in Taiwan. I've purchased it through NewEgg. I am not sure NetGear will sanction this fan, but if your NAS is out of warranty it is an option.

You can search for SILVERSTONE RL-FX121 Case Fan ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835220002 ).

Re: Spec Sheets and Replacement Parts

Gladys,

From NETGEAR HQ, we can only ship out in the Domestic USA. If you are International, will need to find another source, or someone in the USA it could be shipped to.

We have a few of those PSUs kicking around from the Infrant days, so it is possible at this time. The cost would be $20. You can call support (number in my signature below), and ask for the case to be escalated to L3, reference this forum post to the techs, so they know who to get the PSU from (me).

For others reading this in the future, this may not be possible at that time, there is limited supply.

Re: Spec Sheets and Replacement Parts

Thanks Chirpa,

I have decided to do some mods and go for the Picopsu. Seems like an OK solution.
It's good to see you still offer the great support I was used to years ago.

Cheers,

Chirpa,

The picoPSU I bought is (I think) underpowered. I'd still be interested in buying two of the PSU's you guys still have lying around. Can you PM me with the details and the info you need from me?

Thanks!

How many fans are on the fan header wire? Some revisions had just one fan, some had two fans. I can probably find some spares around the office still.
