Transferring a Readynas 2100 from an old network to a new one
I have saved a Readynas 2100 from my business in 2017.
I would like to use it again for my new business without lossing data on the drives.
The IP address on the nas is a different range then what I am currently using.
How to change the IP address on the Nas to match my current range?
Anyone?

An OS reinstall will do the trick. See pages 12-13 here:
That will
- reset the network config to use DHCP with no bonding
- reset the admin password to netgear1
It will not delete shares or change other settings.
Likely after you do this, you will also find that you get a SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH error when you try to access frontview.
You can work around this by using FireFox, and setting security.tls.version.min to 1 (browse to about:config and search for the setting). Then install this add-on to add TLS 1.2 support to your NAS.

I did some reading up after going through your answer.
It is clear for me that my IT experience is very low! 🙂
I found that it may be possible to add an extra IP range to my existing one so that my computer can access the Readynas.
Would you agree that this is viable?
I now have a 192.168.2.-- range and would like to add a 1.83.10.-- range
Do you see a possible solution for that, and if so how?

No, this is not going to work.
Is there a reason you don't want to use the OS-reinstall? That will end up with the NAS being assigned a 192.168.2.x address by your home router.

1.83.10.x is a public internet address (used by China Telecom), not something you'd be using on a home network.

Did you perhaps mean 10.83.10??? Yes.
Point 4 on page 13 mentions...
Continue to press the Reset button until all the LEDS except the disk activity LED illuminate.
So its not clear what is meant here as in the about the disk activity.
Questions:
- Do I need to have this exact pattern of lights?
- You mentioned resetting the admin password. Do I do this using the app Raidar?

The OS re-install does the password reset, you don't do it separately.

Ok, your advise was very helpful! Great!
Is up and running, but as you mentioned I now need to install the Apache 2 bin file.
I have tried different things but now am still missing something to get this installed.
I have downloaded Firefox and followed the instructions for setting security.tls.version.min to 1
This has worked.
So...now the last opp. 🙂

What firmware are you running?
Normally you just install the bin as an add-on in Frontview.

Sooo,
Firmware update worked. Add on did not load. Failure message.
I can only use Frontview after turning off my AVG internet security.
After the firmware update, Frontview is not loading anymore.
I did get a message saying to use RAIDar.

Did you try rebooting the NAS?
Also, look in your router's attached device list - just to make sure the IP address didn't change.

I rebooted the NAS
IP address is still the same
What did not work up to date is the Apache 2 update
Further, somehow I think my virus scanner AVG is holding things up.
but, even if I turn it off, Frontview will not show anything.

If you have a spare disk you aren't using, then you can try
- powering down
- removing the existing disks (labeling them by slot)
- insert the spare disk
- do a factory default from the boot menu
Then see if you can access frontview.
Note there is about a 10 minute window between the time you choose the factory default and the time it actually starts. It will reformat the disk and install the OS on it, which will take a few more minutes.

Strange thing is, at first I could see the Frontview UI . This all changed after doing the update! Now the UI is empty.

Ok,
I have tried everything you mentioned up to date.
This is not making a difference.
Upto the point that the Apache file needed to be activated, which did not work I updated the software to 4.2.31
From this point on I have not been successful in opening Frontview!

I have been reading up in the community concerning Frontview. It seems alot of people have had similar problems with an empty page. Could it just be a software glitch?

If the spare disk test also didn't help, then the issue is not directly related to the add-on you installed - since that would not have been applied to the spare disk when you did the factory default.
Did you try clearing the browser cache? Do you have another PC (or Mac) you can try?

Cannot reach Frontview at all on my laptop.
Get the following message...
This site is not available
192.168.2.41 refused the connection.
Try this:
• Check the connection
• Check the proxy and firewall
Err_connection_refused
Recharge
Hide
Check your internet connection
Check all cables and restart all routers, modems or other network devices that you use.
Allow AVG Secure Browser to use the network via your firewall or antivirus settings.
If this program is already mentioned as a program that has access to the network, you can try to remove it from the list and add it again.
If you use a proxy server ...
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to check whether the proxy server works. If you think you shouldn't use a proxyverer: go to the menu 'AVG Secure Browser'> View Settings> Advanced Settings ...> Change proxy settings ...> LAN settings and remove the check mark from the check box at 'A proxy server for the LAN- use network '.
Checked the proxy. It is not on or set.
Now what? This is getting pretty frustrating

That screen usually means one of the SAMBA configuration files is corrupt. Unfortunately, an OS re-install doesn't replace them all (I assume because apps may also change them). But you can try re-doing the OS install to see if something just went wrong when you did it before. It's not likely that it's because the image in flash is bad, as more would likely not work, but you could try a USB recovery.
