malfunction in folder access set up
We got the RN3138, and setup folders, users, and acces authorities.
During this process, we encountered the following issue.
1.One user had no access authoriy, no loged in
2.He just input the IP address in explorer.
3.He could access all the folders even he has no access authorizations without even his user ID or password.
4. After he restarted his PC, it came back to norml condition as expected.
Initially, he did not now his log- in info, but he could access all the folders.
I do not understand what it was, caused by windows or set up utillitiy.

Re: malfunction in folder access set up
Hi @kenjpn, one possible explanation for that malfunction might be, that you still have enabled "everybody" in the file access rights. You might want to check the concerned share and if that is the case disable "everybody" to let only users with valid accounts and passwords access your shares as intended.
Kind regards

Of course allowing anonymous access (which is the default setting) would also have done this.
I am thinking this might be related to the timing. If the person opened the SMB session before you set the network permissions, then changing the network permissions might not close that open session (since authentication has already been done).
If that's what happened, then rebooting the NAS would have also terminated his access.
