I have a Wifi AC and N netwerk in my house and need to connect a number of devices that do not have WiFi capability themselves. So I am wondering if it is possible to configure a R8000 to connect to my LAN (and via that to the internet) via Wifi instead of its WAN port.

You don't need to be that clear. Leave me some hope. 🙂
Thanks for the answer.

Re: Connect R8000 to internet via Wifi
NB: I have figured out that the technical name for this setup is a wifi bridge or wireless bridge.

Re: Connect R8000 to internet via Wifi
The R8000 does not support wifi repeater (or wireless bridge) mode.
You can use the R8000 as a wireless access point, with a LAN connection to your router.
If you can't run a LAN cable far enough, then Powerline Ethernet can use your mains circuit to fill the gap.

Re: Connect R8000 to internet via Wifi
I'm replacing a slow powerline setup. Wifi seems to work beter so far (my, ahm, Asus can do wireless bridging).

Old Powerline plugs have 100 Mbps Ethernet. New ones do 1000 Mbps. That males a difference.
Mine should be able to do 1200, but only does 200. Probably due to some interference, maybe a dimmer. The wifi gets 800, which is more than sufficient.

That's pretty good. Very few wifi clients can get anywhere near that. It's a physics and technology thing.
