Custom Port Drop
It seems that my Router is dropping traffic to a custom port. I have changed my RDP port over to 5589 and it seems that traffic outside the router is being dropped.
Here is my setup:
ISP Router is on 192.168.1.x Support
ISP Router is set to put Netgear on DMZ Port
Netgear is on 172.20.x.x subnet
Port FWD and Port Triggering is set for custom TCP Port 5589 to the IP of my computer
Netgear Router is set to disable Port Scan and DoS Protection, NAT Filter = Open
Netgear Router is set to DMZ Server = IP of my Computer
Tests:
Telnet to 5589 from another PC on the 172.20.x.x Subnet To Desired PC = True
Telnet from Internet or 192.168.1.xx subnet to Desired PC = Fail
Plug PC into the ISP Router and Telnet to Public IP or Private IP from a PC on the 192.168.1.xx subnet = True
Wire Shark running on PC does not show any Drop
Netgear Router Log does not show any drop / any traffic
Ideally Id like to NOT have to use DMZ nor Disable Nat Filtering. Those are only set for Diagnostic reasons. At one time in the past I had this working with 3389 (Default RDP Port). I found some issues with local PC friewall and ended up fixing those by stopping both Windows Firewall and Mcafee AV Firewall.
Any ideas?
