DNS issues
Hello,
Current firmware V1.0.4.76_10.1.82
However, I think I saw the same problem before this recent update.
I noticed alot of web pages first come up with an error, then come in.
A banking web site, bill pay section, points to a load balancer.
I thought it was something to do with the banks load balancer.
First I modified my host file, with the bill pay load balancer name, and it worked flawlessly. However, that IP may change so I reverted it back.
I then set the workstations DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4 and that helped as well.
Next I changed the workstations DNS to the ones provide by my ISP, these worked well.
So there is a problem with the routers DNS forwarding or something in the router. Some people rolled back the firmware, but I don't want to give up the security benifits.
I'm a CISSP and vetted this issue out by the steps above.
Netgear, when are you going to resolve this.
Many users are reporting the same issue.

Re: DNS issues
A couple things.
1. This has been seen across mutliple product lines for some reason
2. this is the community support forum where members of the public help out. We're not netgear. There's an occassional mod on here
3. Some have fixed the problem simply by enabling IPv6. Have you tried this?
4. Some have downgraded the firmware. Not always a great option but an option if it brings stability/speed to the network.
