Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
I have a nighthawk R7000 router and can't seem to get the Diesney+ and ESPN apps to work on my Roku any longer.
Any thoughts on wha the issue might be?
Firmware Version
V1.0.11.126_10.2.112
Hoping someone has had this issue already and knows how to fix it..

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
The R7000 is connected to my Arris Surfboard Modem.
Disney+ also does not work on my iPad or my windows laptop.

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
thats a modem/router combo device.
it can put you in a double nat.
https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
options? (only use 1)
1. put the arris in modem only/passthrough mode.
2. put the netgears IP address into the Arris's DMZ
3. put the netgear into access point mode

No. Bridge mode and access point mode are 2 different modes for netgear.

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
Thanks, was not aware I should set it to AP mode. I've had it on router mode for years with no issues. Then a month ago Disney+ and ESPN app stopped working suddenly. So why was it been working fine till recently? So confusing and frustrating.
Any other gotcha's I need to know about if I change it to AP mode. All my devices use my neatgear router. Will that mess anything up?

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
there's some features that get disabled in AP mode that the Arris will manage.
its one of the downfalls of AP mode.
That's why there's a couple options to try to see what works best for your situation

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
I tried option "#3.- put my netgear router in access point mode" but that still not work, Should I undo that and try one of the other options?
options? (only use 1)
1. put the arris in modem only/passthrough mode.
2. put the netgears IP address into the Arris's DMZ
3. put the netgear into access point mode

As @plemans says, AP mode disables several features on a router.

The best option is probably to put the arris in modem only/passthrough mode.

Re: Disney+ & ESPN not working on ROKU
If it still didn't work. it could be an issue of the arris (since its controlling routing functions) or even the DNS.
you could try the arris in passthrough (make sure to switch the netgear back out of AP mode).
also, try using a different dns provider. you could try googles at 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
or cloudfare at 1.1.1.1
