Ethernet Cable speed Reduced with R8500 -- HELP !!

A few weeks ago I went from a R8000  (150 MBPS speed) to a R8500 ( only 96MBPS)

Let me restate that.. when I had the R8,000  My Ethernet Cable Connected

speed test would come back between 146MBps to 160MBps while I pay for 150MB service.

This with My Doing NOTHING.. but plugging the ethernet cable in !!!

.

I bought a R8,500 and my Ethernet connected speed will reach no higher than 96MBps.

.. What in the HECK can I do to fix this.. I've tried several things.. but with no luck.

.

I've moved my MacBookPro ethernet cable from  Port 1,2 (Not binded) & Port 3.. all tested @ 96MBps

.

Firmware is UpToDate.

I've turned Off & On  Dynamic QoS..  no help

I have my Macbook pro set as  HIGHEST priority, while NOTHING else is connected when speed testing.

Automatically getting all ISP info.

NOT Checked :  Disable Port Scan & DoS

Not Ck: Default  DMZ

Not ck: Respond to Ping

Not ck: Disable IGMP

MTU = 1500

Not ck:  Disable Sip ALG

.

Also..  My Old router R8000  I never messed with the MacBook, Network, Ethernet Port, Hardware

which was set on 100BaseTX -- which the speed test gave 150MB as it was.

I did try to switch it to 1000BaseT  ( which the port is suppose to work with)

but the Mac would not allow it, even on Manual settings.

--- But still.. the 100BaseTX always gave 146 to 160MBps .. so I figure it SHOULD ALSO NOW.

.

Any suggestions ??  why would the R8500 be slower than the R8000 ?

Re: Ethernet Cable speed Reduced with R8500 -- HELP !!

What color is the Ethernet LED on the R8500?  If it's amber, then the port is running at 100 Mbps.  The Ethernet cable could be damaged, so try a different one.

If the Macbook Pro hardware is set to 100BaseTX, then that will force the Macbook to run at 100 Mbps.  You must change it to either 1000BaseTX or, if available, auto-negotiate.

The manual suggests to plug in your first computer into port 3 on the R8500 and subsequent devices into ports 4, 5 and 6.

Re: Ethernet Cable speed Reduced with R8500 -- HELP !!

Also..  I connected the Modem directly to my desk and the speed test was 150MB.

Recap.. R8000 got 140-160MB  Wired with Cat6a on ~Everything~

New R8500 only gets 96MB wired with Cat6a on everything
